Getting Ready for Yule

Posted on Dec 1st, 2008 by Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Phoenix

Patti Wigington at About.com Pagan and Wiccan section offers a 12 Day Devotional to prepare for Yule. (http://paganwiccan.about.com )
Today she posted a blessing/poem to focus upon the Earth, as it waits to be awaken again during these cold winter months.

"Cold and dark, this times of year
the Earth lies dormant, awaiting the return
of the sun, and with it life.
From beneath the frozen surface,
a heartbeat waits
until the moment is right
to spring."

She also offers a e-course on the holiday "Yule", which includes information on it's history up to modern day practices of the holiday.

Blessed Be!

What is your wish for this month?

Posted on Dec 1st, 2008 by Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Phoenix
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 01, 2008:

I am wishing for balance, peace and acceptance. I am wishing that more people grant other people beingness, and enjoy the diversity instead of trying to conform others. I wish for many moments where I can find pearls of wisdoms in the words of friends and strangers, and a present of mind to never miss those opportunities. I wish for smiles on the faces of children, all children, no matter where they are and what burden they might had to carry in their past.  I wish that we all treat each other with the respect and tolerance, that we wish to be treated like.
And I am wishing all of my friends here on Gaia and everywhere a peaceful month - no matter how one chooses to live, celebrate and embrace each moment of the comming days.

Many blessings

Claudia

Self-Confidence Equals Self-Determinism (A Quote)

Posted on Dec 2nd, 2008 by Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Phoenix
"There is only one security, when you've lost that security, you've lost everything you got. And that is the security of confidence in yourself; to be, to create, to make any position you want to make for yourself. And when you loose that confidence, you've lost the only security you can have....
Self-confidence is self-determinism. One's belief in one's ability to determine his own course. As long as one has that, he's got the universe in his pocket. And when he hasn't got that, not all the pearls in China, nor all the corn in Iowa can give him security, because that's the only security there is."

Posted on Dec 5th, 2008 by Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Phoenix

The following is a Cherokee Prayer published in "How to Pray Without Being Religious" by Janell Moon

"Look, I see the Sun. He is my father. He is my beginning.
Look, I see the Moon. She is my Grandmother, My guardian keeper.
Look, I see the Stars. They are my friends, my relatives.
Look, I see the Universe. I see myself."

Blessed Be!

What is prayer?

Posted on Dec 15th, 2008 by Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Phoenix
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 15, 2008:

a personal connection of any form or kind to the expression of Source that one is most familiar with and resonates with the individual.
To me personally prayer is a deep connection with the the All through every expression of me, in words, action, thought, by practicing rituals or spells, through devotions, and by just being in nature, sitting still, allowing myself to feel the connection to it all.

Blessed Be
