The right to life - when did we choose to believe that this human right only applies to those who think like us, live like us, or are following our laws, we have opposed upon them?
Do you really believe, that once someone has taken a life, we have a right to take his? Are the people who are living in war-torn countries so different, that we do not stand up for their right to live? How about the people who are hungry - should we let them die, or do we take action, so that there life is preserved?
The right to life goes far beyond just the questions of not killing anyone, or the debate on the death-penalty. It extends to that right to that person who lives in Burma and is hungry, or the person trapped under a building in China. It goes for the person on hunger-strike somewhere in the world, trying to protest peacefully for what he/she believes in. Our thoughts, our actions should defend their right to live too, and each time we speak out in their behave we are truly honoring the right to life for everyone.
