Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Human Right # 13: Freedom to move

Human Right # 13: Freedom to move

Posted on Jun 12th, 2008 by Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Phoenix
Freedom to move, freedom to go anywhere, freedom to travel and visit those you love anywhere around the world.
Do we take this freedom for granted?
People who grew up in what used to be East Germany did not have that freedom, they were not able to visit their relatives in the West, not that many years ago.
Freedom to move on the white side of town, and sit on the white benches and white restaurants, South Africans did not have that freedom, also not long ago.
Some religious groups are confined to life in sections, separated not by choice, but because they do not follow the majority of the belief in the country they reside in. They life in the not desirable section, having to make do, with what they have been given. That is happening in many places right now.
The next time you are planning to move, or take a vacation, remember that this freedom is a privilege we have been blessed with. Appreciate it, deeply.

I have been thinking the same thing in recent days … how artificial the boundaries of nations and countries are; so called border controls and immigration.

Why are we not free to move and work where-ever we want on the planet?

As an immigrant to the US, I  completly agree with you. Being a human being should be enough to grant citizenship to any-place on this beautiful planet of ours.
