How do you allow for expansion in your life?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 07, 2008:
Now that I got your attention - he, he - seriously:
Expansion on a personal level for me is as essential as breathing. I am constantly drawn toward new perspectives especially faiths, and it facinates me to see how I can learn from other people's point of view, or expressions of their religion, all their aspects, and then integrate into my life what resonates with me on a deep level.
We all have truth to share, so listening to that truth is my way of expanding toward a more spiritual person. Without exepting and gathering the knowledge that others have to offer there can not be any growth, on any level.

Hi Phoenix….Claudia, First, love the attention-getter of the witch stirring the pot. That's great! I like what you say about expansion being as essential as breathing. I LOVE expansion. And what you say about learning from the viewpoint of others is so vital as we grow spiritually. Having said that, I've actually learned to…..sometimes…..love contraction as well. The rhythm of expanding outward and then contracting inward, like waves rolling in and out on the shore. Thank you so much for reminding us of the value of moving outwards into new territories. Love, Kathy
Oh Kathy, I hear what you are saying about contraction - I have phases of reflection, in a way that is my way of dealing with the other side of expansion. Balance of both is so important, allowing yourself to stop for a moment, look within, breathe, then come back for more. This reminds me so much of the tides - the rythm of life in general, we expand, and contract, only to expand again, if we want to live in a peaceful, serene rythm with our original way of being.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Hugs
I hesitate to post a comment simply saying, 'I agree,” but I've recently been pondering upon contracting, closing off, going into solitude. I used to subtly judge myself for this, unless I was actually “meditating” which I felt was the only thing that really made it okay. I love to chuckle at my past silliness, and wonder what I'll be chuckling about tomorrow, that I take so seriously today…
hi claudia !
I allow expansion in my life by taking every one as equally important as me, that helps me to view the things from many peoples point of view. Which in turn helps me to explore many hidden truths.
Hi to all of you! Thank you for posting your point of view on expansion. The reflection upon subjects through the questions here on Gaia gives us all a chance to learn from the point of view of others, which I so much apprechiate. It used to make me uneasy to look back at how I used to think, MamaSue - it took me a long time to get to the point that I could laugh at my past thinking, as I used to be so self-concious, and insecure, so I consider that you can, a strength - I hope you do to.
Hugs to all of you!
Sometimes I wonder if people share in spirit. I don't even try but I feel the same in viewpoint as you express. Its wonderful to feel expansion happening. Sometimes its like a good workout…pain but the new knowledge stays with us forever.
People share in spirit, if they choose to. While we are all able to connect in this way, it is at times frustrating that some people walk through life without knowing what vast connection there is, and what they are missing. But then I sigh, and smile, and focus upon the once like you who already do, emerging myself in the connection I have always felt, envisioned, knew was there.
The knowledge we need to embrace, all of it, it all having within a lesson, that needs to be learned, without learning the lesson there will be more lessons, more pain.
Now I will shift my focus upon the possibilities again, within all of us, physically through the Olympics, mentally through the shift that is happening - even if we still have work to do, and spiritually, connecting with whomever is ready to accept the fact that we are one.
Hugs
