What do you think about when you're feeling down?

Posted on Aug 19th, 2008 by Phoenix : Reborn and Complete Phoenix
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 19, 2008:

Phoenix
As I think about my responds to feeling down, a pattern emerges within the way I react. Usually I allow myself to vent in some form, may it be through voicing myself, or through crying or talking to someone - the means do not matter, just that I am doing so helps. Then I take a moment away from what makes me feel down. Today, it was a episode of Charmed and some really good coffee, and a few minutes here on Gaia, that helped getting me to a better point of view. The next step, and that has become a step that over the last few years, I have been able to get to quicker and quicker, is to plan new action, to re-organize in some form. Today it is to sort out the action steps through brainstorming, and see what spiritual tools I can use according to my faith (I won't elaborate there - too personal), and then follow through.
It is interesting that this question was asked today, I am sure there was a reason.
As for my feeling down part of the day? I am on the verge of rising out of those ashes again. After all, am I not the Phoenix? Isn't that what I do best?

Sounds like just the perfect response from the Phoenix.  Of course you should rise from the ashes.  And it sounds like you know how to do it in a much easier way as the years have gone by.  As usual, I'm just the opposite of this question today…..have had a really good day.  But may come back and read this question and some of the responses next time one of those “down” days hits.  Thanks, Phoenix.

my beauty, rise again in the fullness of time! http://www.classicauthors.net/andersen/ThePhoenixBird/

The bird flutters round us, swift as light, beauteous in color, charming in song. When a mother sits by her infants cradle, he stands on the pillow, and, with his wings, forms a glory around the infants head. He flies through the chamber of content, and brings sunshine into it, and the violets on the humble table smell doubly sweet…

The Phoenix bird, dost thou not know him? The Bird of Paradise, the holy swan of song! On the car of Thespis he sat in the guise of a chattering raven, and flapped his black wings, smeared with the lees of wine; over the sounding harp of Iceland swept the swans red beak; on Shakspeares shoulder he sat in the guise of Odins raven, and whispered in the poets ear Immortality! and at the minstrels feast he fluttered through the halls of the Wartburg.

The Phoenix bird, dost thou not know him? He sang to thee the Marseillaise, and thou kissedst the pen that fell from his wing; he came in the radiance of Paradise, and perchance thou didst turn away from him towards the sparrow who sat with tinsel on his wings.

The Bird of Paradiserenewed each centuryborn in flame, ending in flame! Thy picture, in a golden frame, hangs in the halls of the rich, but thou thyself often fliest around, lonely and disregarded, a mythThe Phoenix of Arabia.

In Paradise, when thou wert born in the first rose, beneath the Tree of Knowledge, thou receivedst a kiss, and thy right name was given theethy name, Poetry.

Centria, hi Darling! Thank you for your kind responds. As I relax now, after this day, I can gladly say that even though I still do not know the lesson of today, I know that the kindess I tried to share with someone else at least had some affect. So it was worth it.
Nicole, Sweetheart! Thank you so much for this wonderful comment! I am growing more and more fond of the call-name I have chosen on a sudden inspiration as my time goes by. I am glad you are doing better.
Hugs to both of you beautiful souls! I am honored to be able to consider you my friends!

Peace
